Welcome to the 2018 season in Hove Park. This is an exiting new era for the club and also heralds in new arrangements for Hove Park courts management.
First club night is on Monday 26th March – running Mondays and Fridays from 5pm until 30 April, then from 6pm through the summer till a return to 5pm start in September. Various members will be helping open up the courts for club nights this season, but anyone else willing to volunteer to be a regular “early starter” or “late finisher” and help with this should contact Mick or any of the committee.
Matches start from Tuesday 10th April, with some new Team Captains – so please ensure your registration forms and payment have been returned to Mick Cox by Friday 6th April at the latest! At least this season there will no more Match Fees to be paid as now included in the £70 membership fee.
Details of the other club competition dates were in the welcome letter sent.
This season will see major changes in the way the courts are run, as the council have now handed over the running (and financing) of the courts to “Hove Park Tennis Alliance” – a new organisation comprising members of Hove Park Tennis, Top Cat and Welbeck Tennis clubs. There is an online & App court booking system (club members are automatically made members of the HPTA) which is also available to members of the public, to allow you to book available courts! Once your membership form has been received by Mick, you will be invited to register online for access.
PS Thanks to Nick Rivett Sports who gave us a good competitive price for this season’s Dunlop Fort all court tennis balls so I hope you will visit his shop in Church Road, Hove whenever you need any tennis or other sports equipment!
